June Roses
The official birthday flower of June is the magnificent Rose, so if they are lucky enough to have June birth date then spoil them with roses! For centuries roses have been treasured for their natural beauty and delicate scent – with the Greeks and Romans believing they represented love and passion.
So for a birthday gift to send in June, Feehily’s Florist would highly recommend a handtied bouquet of pale pink roses. Did you know pink roses represent joy, grace and appreciation? Just look how gorgeous these pink roses, with their dainty pink colour and extra large petals – nearly as big as Micheal!
Care tip: Roses are often delivered with guard petals on, which may look slightly bruised or dried on the outside, but they serve an excellent purpose! These guard petals act like bubble wrap to protect the delicate petals underneath, and can simply be pinched off when you receive the roses.
Pretty Peonies
One of the most asked for flower in Summer, and adored by many including royalty, is the marvellous Peony. These fluttery petals in a round pompom head look simply stunning in a bespoke birthday bouquet, creating that real luxurious and enchanting factor. Here at Feehily’s Florist we love mixing peonies with summery stocks, which perfectly compliment each other for a stylish and country garden vibe. Be warned though - peony season is short but sweet, so you have to act fast to get your hands on them!
Styling tip: Peonies look fab displayed in a short round glass vase, just cut the stem length so that the flower head will sit just above the rim of the vase. Sweet Honeysuckle
For a more unusual June flower to celebrate a special birthday, our expert florists recommend honeysuckle. With its dainty petals and sweet scent, honeysuckle has a really natural, botanical feel which is bang on trend for 2021.
